Across all year groups in our school we follow a scheme entitled ‘The Way, the Truth and the Life’.

Key Stage 1

Through all school activities we aim to deepen children’s faith and help them grow in the love of God. We provide a curriculum which enables them to be innately spiritual and understand the place that God has in their lives. 
KEY SKILLS: Recognise, identify, retell, describe, outline, summarise, select, make links, reason, explain, demonstrate an understanding & show insight.
YEAR 1: God’s Great Plan, Mary, Mother of God, Families & Celebrations, Following Jesus
YEAR 2: Chosen People, Mysteries, Good News, The Mass, Eastertide, The Church is Born
OTHER FAITHS: Judaism & Islam

Lower Key Stage 2

Children learn about our faith but also learn from our faith and how it relates to them and their lives. 
KEY SKILLS: Appreciate, compare, contrast, justify, assess, discuss, critically evaluate & express.
YEAR 3: The Christian Family, Mary, Mother of God, Sacrament of Reconciliation, Celebrating the Mass, Celebrating Easter & Pentecost & Being a Christian
YEAR 4: The Bible, Trust in God, Jesus the Teacher, Jesus the Saviour, The Early Christians & The Church
OTHER FAITHS: Sikhism & Hinduism

Upper Key Stage 2
Children listen, discuss, reflect and take part in a range of creative activities such as: role play, singing and art. Through our lessons, we try to enable children to understand scripture and worship.
KEY SKILLS: Analyse, deduce, classify, clarify & interpret.
YEAR 5: Creation, The Commandments, Inspirational People, Reconciliation, Life in the Risen Lord & People of Other Faiths
YEAR 6: Kingdom of God, Justice, Jesus the Bread of Life, Jesus Son of God, The Work of the Apostles & Called to Serve
OTHER FAITHS: Judaism, Islam & Buddhism
