Nursery
Welcome to our Nursery!
At St Agatha’s Catholic Primary School Nursery, we provide a high-quality EYFS education. giving children a secure and confident start to their school life. We value and encourage the uniqueness of each child, offer equal opportunities to all and recognise that everyone has a positive contribution to make to the life of our school community.
Curriculum
Our Curriculum aims to ignite curiosity and nurture a lifelong love of learning, that values and meets the cognitive, physical, verbal and emotional needs of each child as well as delivering spiritual, emotional and pastoral care, underpinned by our Catholic Ethos.
Environment
We work hard to provide a stimulating, enabling environment that provides exciting opportunities, promotes challenge and exploration, and builds on our children’s capacity to be confident and independent learners, who believe in themselves and interact positively with others.
Learning Through Play
We understand that play is an intrinsic part of learning and this is at the heart of our Early Years nursery curriculum. We believe that the flexible combination of adult-directed and uninterrupted child-initiated play ensures the best outcomes for pupils. Staff respond to each child’s emerging needs and interests, guiding their development through warm, positive, high-quality interaction. We understand that secure relationships between staff and children, consistent routines and strong relationships with parents are fundamental to effective practice.
Firm Foundations
We recognise and respect the essential role that early year’s education plays in providing firm foundations and essential knowledge and skills upon which the rest of a child’s future success in education is based. Being based in a school setting allows our children extra-curricular opportunities which they would not experience in a private nursery and we are confident that it really prepares our children for their future learning journey.
