Staff v Year 6 Netball Match

After much anticipation, the day of the annual Staff v Year 6 Netball fixture had arrived. The sun was shining, the crowd were cheering, and both were ready to do battle!
Only once before has the staff team been beaten so the odds were stacked heavily in their favour!
The game took off at a fast pace, the year 6 children passing the ball at speed...the staff team struggling to keep up, only 30 seconds had past when the Year 6 team took the lead. 1-0. The staff knew they had a tough game on their hands! The staff quickly got themselves together and were able to level the scores, 1-1, and then score another shortly after, 2-1. Just before the first quarter finished year 6 were able to level the scores. 2-2.
The second quarter began with the staff team determined to come out on top and scored 3 times without reply. The staff team now had a healthy lead of 5-2 at the end of the second quarter. 
With the KS1 staff departing the children would now face the KS2 staff for the final 2 quarters. The third quarter was very even in terms of shots and possession, but the staff were unable to convert their chances. The Year 6 children on the other hand scored twice to narrow the deficit to 5-4! All to play for!
The tension was mounting ahead of the final quarter,  both teams eager for victory! The staff team went on the attack but the year 6 defence held firm. All the children needed was one score to force extra time....and they got it with seconds left on the clock! 5-5, sudden death. 
With the staff team tiring in the heat the Year 6's, with youth on their side, knew they could win it. After only one minute of extra time the score came, the year 6 team had won the game to be only the second team ever to beat the staff.....well done!!!
