  • St Agatha's Chess Win!

    Published 09/07/25

St Agatha's have beaten Latchmere school in the Annual St Agatha's v Latchmere Chess Shield Competition 2025. The team played with determination to win 7-5 building on the success they had last year. The Latchmere team were extremely strong but still St Agatha's came through. The team this year included two Year 2 beginners who were selected to play based on their outstanding performance in the recent UK Chess Challenge competition. They won through with flying colours. The strength, determination and resilience of the entire team paid off. All team members were awarded their Chess blue badges.

We have many aspiring chess players in the Chess club and hope this acts as an inspiration for them and new members to work hard, and maybe they can be part of the St Agatha's Shield match in 2026.

  • Voices for Social Justice Conference

    Published 08/07/25

It was with great excitement that a group of Year 5 children, selected in their roles as pupil RE leaders, Mini Vinnies and school council representatives, attended the inaugural ‘Voices for Social Justice’ Conference at Holy Cross School, New Malden.
The children had the great privilege of listening to guest speakers, from across the country, who spoke about how we can each make a positive difference in the world through our words and actions. The learning from the conference will be shared with all St Agatha’s children so all voices can be heard in our school as we plan actions for social justice.

We look forward to sharing our ideas and celebrating our actions!

  • Football Tournament Winners!

    Published 06/06/25

Twelve Year 6 girls braved the pouring rain on Thursday 5th June to compete in a football tournament. They drew 0-0 with Malden Manor before there was a goal scored by one of our team in the match against Corpus Christi. We held on with excellent defending and constant running up the wings to win 1-0. The rain continued to pour while we played our last game against OLI. Although there were few goals, our one goal against Corpus Christi meant that we won the competition.

The girls were very excited to be able to have a photo with Katie Cox, a Chelsea and England U19 player who also refereed their matches. She was very impressed, praising their footballing skills but also their teamwork and leadership skills.  It was a very successful morning for St Agatha's. Well done to all involved.
