Netball Friendly v St Paul's
Wednesday 6th February
Year 5 & Year 6
Netball Friendly v St Paul’s
Two teams from Year 5 and Year 6 travelled to St Paul’s to take part in a netball friendly. Year 5 got off to a great start with some good team work and shooting from Henry and Kiera giving St Agatha’s a first quarter lead of 4:1. Good intercepting and defence from Ola and Liliana saw this increase to a lead commanding 7:1 at half time. St Paul’s fought hard to get back in the game during the second half and made St Agatha’s work harder. The team kept their control of the game and a final well deserved goal from Summer brought the result to 9:1.
St Agatha’s really lifted their game from practise and thoroughly deserved their first win.
The Year 6 match was a much more closely contested game. Marking was much tighter on both sides and players were finding it hard to get free. At half time St Agatha’s were just in the lead with a 2:1 score. The second half saw similar play centred in the middle court with lots of interceptions and constantly switching possession. Just towards the end of the third quarter St Agatha’s managed to break away and maintain this for a 4:2 victory. Ella, Hana, Florence, Kathryn, Sofia you all worked really hard and played some great netball - when you got the ball flowing down the court there was no stopping you - well done!
